Cancer Support Community Greater San Gabriel Valley

September 19, 2023 - The Community foundation was pleased to grant $2,000 to the new Cancer Support Community - Greater San Gabriel Valley.  The grant will be used for CSCSGV to put on free Wednesday Family Night that support cancer patients, their caregiver(s),/loved ones, and their children or grandchildren.    Families will enjoy a free dinner together and then go to one of three support groups:  the first for patients, the second for their caregivers, and the third for their kids. In the groups, participants will share their journey with their peers in a safe and confidential space, encouraging each other, crying and laughing, relieving stress, and learning from each other and the facilitator about resources, best practices and communication skills as it relates to their cancer experience
